Greetings,
Georgia recently welcomed Mathias Hultgren, Economic Counselor at the Swedish Embassy, underscoring the strength of Swedish-Georgian business ties. During his visit, he met with local leaders from Cobb County’s Thomas Concrete and connected with business owners in sectors such as e-mobility and telecommunications.
Swedish companies have become a significant economic force in Georgia, with over 100 firms supporting nearly 12,000 jobs statewide. Nationally, Sweden invests more than $97 billion in the United States and directly supports over 379,000 American jobs—making it the 10th largest foreign investor and 6th fastest-growing.
In 2024, Georgia recorded a fourth consecutive year of export growth at $53.1 billion, spanning 219 global markets. The state now ranks as the 6th largest in total trade at $198.7 billion (up 6.4%). Civilian aircraft remained the top export at $12.6 billion, and the Port of Brunswick became the nation’s leading roll-on/roll-off facility for automotive and heavy equipment.
Georgia’s business-friendly environment, strategic location, and innovative spirit continue to attract Swedish investments, paving the way for further growth in emerging sectors like artificial intelligence, fintech, and healthcare. As bilateral ties deepen, both Georgia and Sweden stand to benefit from these robust and expanding partnerships.
