The Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce Georgia, SACC-Georgia, is a non-profit organization which offers its members business services, events, develops and cultivates business opportunities
and relationships through a unique international business community.

The Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce, Georgia offers a position as a Marketing and Event Trainee. This is a position filled with opportunities to develop both professionally and personally.

Position Summary

In this position you need to be able to work independently under supervision and be involved in various projects at the same time. Being service minded is as important to us as your professional skills.

Main tasks in this role are to keep the website up to date, communicate through our social media tools, create and develop newsletters, marketing collaterals, invitations, press releases and other send-outs. In addition to this, your tasks includes promoting the Chamber, organizing various Chamber events and routine administrative tasks.


  • Higher education in either in Business Administration or Media and Communication.
  • You must be a Swedish citizen (to receive a J-1 visa) and be fluent in both oral and written Swedish and English.
  • Highly driven, solution oriented and business-minded.
  • An outgoing personality and strong communication skills.
  • Good organizational and administrative skills and be able to work independently.

Start Date: January 2015
Deadline: November 14, 2014
Duration: 12 months
Compensation: The internship is unpaid. Accommodation and car shared with other intern is provided for no cost.

Pictures from SACC Summit 2014 – October 2nd & 3rd

SACC Summit 2014

SACC-USA held its annual SACC Summit 2014 on October 2nd-3rd. Participants had the opportunity to meet other Regional Chambers to discuss and outline the future of the SACC-network.
With a program including speakers such as the Ambassador of Sweden, H.E. Björn Lyrvall, Minister for Trade Ewa Björling, and Keynote speaker Peter Carlsson, VP of Supply Chain at Tesla Motors, the event was a given success.

At the end of Day 1 of the Summit, the participants was invited to the Swedish Ambassador’s Residence for a dinner reception.
Day 2 consisted of a couple of more speakers, round table discussions and board meeting. (See the entire outline for the summit here).

The Swedish Excellence Award

SACC-GA is calling for nominations for its first annual Swedish Excellence Award!  This award will be given to a person or company with Swedish connections that has bettered our community.  Do you know someone that has done something outstanding in Atlanta or Georgia?  They could be making our planet greener, our children healthier or our economy stronger!  The award will be presented at our 29th Annual Lucia Gala on Friday, December 5 at the Greystone in Piedmont Park.

TTIP Conference & Member Exclusive Lunch Seminar

On Wednesday September 10th, SACC-Georgia co organized a conference on the topic TTIP together with Metro Atlanta Chamber, the German American Chamber of Commerce, the Transatlantic Business Council and Emory University School of Law. The breakfast conference was held in Emory University’s facilities in Atlanta with around 170 guests registered to the event. Speakers and panelists gave the audience more information about TTIP with an overview of what it is, why it is important, what the potential gains of TTIP would be etc.

Swedish Andreas von Uexkull, Minister Counselor of Trade and Economic Affairs at the Embassy of Sweden in Washington, D.C. was a part of the first panel, discussing perspectives on the EU-U.S. trade relationship.
SACC-Georgia’s board member, and President of PartnerTech Inc. in Atlanta, Gary Bruce, was a part of the second panel, telling the story of how Swedish PartnerTech AB managed to establish its subsidiary PartnerTech Inc. on the American market. Under Gary’s leadership, manufacturing jobs at the Atlanta location have grown by 670% over the years. See pictures from conference HERE. 

After the conference SACC-Georgia held an intimate, member exclusive lunch seminar together with Andreas von Uexkull, where the direct impacts of TTIP for Sweden – U.S. was discussed, among other things related to TTIP. SACC-Georgia members got to firsthand learn more about TTIP and what the benefits would be if the agreement goes through. The Luncheon was held at beautiful City Club of Buckhead, with an amazing view over Atlanta. (Pictures from the Luncheon below.)

Jobs and Economic Growth for Atlanta: How the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) will help.
