The Swedish Excellence Award 2015

SACC-GA is calling for nominations for its second annual Swedish Excellence Award!
This award will be given to a person or company with Swedish connections that has bettered our community.  Do you know someone that has done something outstanding in Atlanta or Georgia? They could be making our planet greener, our children healthier or our economy stronger!  The award will be presented at our 30th Annual Lucia Gala on Friday, December 4th at Druid Hills Golf Club.
Last years award went to Elekta and Swedish Rene McClatchey with the following explanation:
 Company Award – Elekta
“Not only have they supported our Chamber without hesitation for many years, but if you research their impact on the community, you will in fact find page after page of charitable organizations that they have supported.  Not only is this Swedish company the leader in their field, but the depth of their outreach and what they give back is undeniably impressive. For this reason, we give our first Swedish Excellence Award to Elekta.”
Individual Award – Swedish Rene McClatchey
“This person is Swedish, but thankfully for Georgia, she brought her knowledge, experience and compassion with her when she moved to Georgia. 20 years ago she started a small camp for bereaved children who have lost a parent or sibling. Today, she serves over 200 children a year with multiple grief camps every year. The kids attend for free and she raises all of the money on her own.  She is truly a shining star and she has impacted the lives of so many children for the better. For this reason, we give our second Swedish Excellence Award to Dr. Rene McClatchey.”
